The Soulsborne games just had so much satisfaction outside of bosses and that feeling of relief when you see a new bonfire or open a new shortcut is completely absent in this game. Yeah, I agree. Level design in this game is pretty weak. The vertical nature of the world is nice but that's about the only positive thing I can say about it. Soulsborne games have much better and more intricate level design. The lack of shortcut porn is just one of the problems of Sekiro's level design when compared to the Soulsborne games. The other problem is much larger. Sekiro lacks the essential element of what makes the level design so good in the Soulsborne games- and that element is exploration. Sekiro doesn't reward exploration, the Soulsborne games do. In the Soulsborne games you want to search every nook and cranny because your curiosity is going to be rewarded. Weapons, armor, spells, Estus upgrades, etc... Soulsborne games have tons of loot to find which makes exploring the world fun and worth doing so. Sekiro lacks this. Sekiro only has one weapon, no armor, and you get the majority of the Skills through the Skill trees. The loot in Sekiro is worthless junk 90% of the time (seriously game, I don't need any more Ceramic Shards or Fistful of Ash). The only loot worth a damn is Prayer Beads and Gourd Seeds so just use a guide for those and ignore everything else. There are Prosthetic upgrades but you would have to actually try to NOT gather them all since they really aren't that well hidden.

Casual 732
So I beat Sekiro. But I got the bad ending. So I think I missed a bit of the content. Oh well, I was gonna do another playthrough anyhow.
madmaltese★ 2,588
Shitttttt I think i fucked up. Think I made a bad decision at the end of Sekiro and the game is gonna end..... Fuarkkkkk.

Yeah I did.... didn't really mean to either just wanted to see what would happen because earlier in the game you are asked to make a choice and you don't really have a choice. If you choose the choice the game doesn't want you to choose it just sends you back and you can only choose the other one. This time I got fucked lol. Problem is I had no intention of replaying it. ugh

soup 105
If it's any consolation you can get through a NG+ run in 4 to 6 hours. Finished my no beads run, end was such a wall. Game is very good.

Especially when you don't really need to be concerned with trash mobs at all, it's so fast to go from boss to boss. First playthrough was quite a bit less time than my first playthrough of the Soulsborne games took...and proportionally I spent wayyyy more time trying to get bosses down. Sabo 442
Got all endings, just need to do one more playthrough to get all the Skills and get the last two Prosthetic upgrades and then I'll have the Platinum. After that I'm done with the game. If I'm going to be honest, this actually hurts to say but I don't think the game is all that great. I'd probably give it a 7/10, game has a lot of problems and doesn't live up to the standard the Soulsborne games set (although to be fair, that's a high bar). I appreciate that FromSoftware tried to do something different with Sekiro but it still falls short in too many areas. Edited April 10, 2019 by Sabo

Sabo 442
Ughh.... getting this last trophy is going to take FOREVER. Farming for Skill points is so damn tedious and I need 20 Skill Points to get the last three skills I need. Why isn't there a balloon that increases XP gain? The game has a balloon for everything else but that...

Casual 732
Nothing more satisfying that doing a second playthrough of a FROM game and shitting on all those bosses that gave you trouble. Not sure what I'll play after I'm done with this. DMC5 was $50 on Amazon (canadian)...almost jumped on that but might be a bit similar, think I'll hold off still. Was hoping to find a deal on RE2 by this point.

Genichiro was the fight where battling the posture bar instead of the health bar really clicked with me, so fighting all the bosses again before him was just utterly hilarious on NG+. Gyoubu especially. I killed him in two attempts on my first playthrough so I never really had trouble with him, but I chipped away at that health bar for what felt like 15 minutes using the one window of opportunity I felt really safe abusing. Going back and watching that posture bar fucking skyrocket before he came anywhere close to half health was just hilarious.

When you learn that you are fighting the posture bar and not the health. They do such an amazing job of timing when that info is given to you though. They let you beat 2 bosses where the health tactic works while not being the most efficient. Then you get hit with Genichiro which initially feels like a giant step up in difficulty right up until that revelation clicks. Then the entire game changes. Pretty incredible design. 1
Twinblade★ 3,933
I've put almost 9 hours into Supraland since I bought it yesterday. its a hell of a puzzle game honestly, especially since it was apparently developed by only 1 dude.

Twinblade★ 3,933
I came back from my mini Colorado vacation and just lost the drive to continue playing sekiro even though I was really liking it and I’m not sure why.
