I won't be playing anything for months or close to a year probably, stuck in bumfuck nowhere Montenegro in the middle of endless mountains, imagine Rocky IV's training location without the snow (yet)

There are cheaper ways to torture yourself. Im pretty sure razor blades go for $1-$2.

I finally finished Aegis Rim     I want my fucking 40 hours back. I can't believe how absolutely SHIT that ending was. I couldn't be more disappointed right now.   I was

Only one mission left in DOOM Eternal I believe, it says its the point of no return until its finished so Im assuming thats the last one.

Currently going back to previous missions to get all the secrets. Some of them are cleverly hidden.

Im loving it but its a bit on the short side, it wont even last me a week at this rate even with a %100 completion rate, but RE3 is coming out in a few days so thats fine I guess.

GOTY 2020 so far.

so FFVII Remake is out today here in Aus......

But i preordered on Amazon so have to wait for whenever they send it. Welp

Are retailers actually selling it? I know SE was sending copies out early for supply chain reasons, but I figured shops would still need to hold out until the 10th before selling them.

Yup, I can go buy it at retailers right now. The official release date for Aus got moved forward. Amazon still showing the old release date though :(

I think I’m done with animal crossing tbh. Everything is just such a chore and the game really seems to want you to min max. I’ve never really got into an animal crossing before but I always thought of them as pretty relaxed and at your own pace. The first few days of this there were things you felt like you needed to do or you’d get behind, but I assumed that would stop once the town got setup. At this point I’m convinced it doesn’t. I was getting a lot of enjoyment out of the loop and feel like I could continue to but not when I feel like I’m required to adhere to a schedule.

Also the crafting system is just kinda exhausting. So many classic Nintendo archaic choices that make it painfully slow and tedious. Like why can’t I craft out of my storage when I’m already in my house? You have to move the mats to your small inventory first. Inventory management itself is just a pain in the ass, even with the max inventory I have to do individual chores at a time to avoid going back and forth to my house/the store multiple times. I basically have to do an individual lap of my island for each specific type of gathering. Even then I have to run back home multiple times because one of my 10 types of tools inevitably breaks. Oh and those tools are tied to a shitty crafting system.

the game is so conflicted between wanting you to min max but refusing to let you play efficiently in any way whatsoever.

writing this out actually made me dislike the game more.

Finished Watch Dogs 1 main campaign. Eh, the final 10-15 missions were kinda so-so, they still tried to maintain some variety.

Ubisoft really does have a thing with boring brooding main characters for their open-world games. Aiden Pearce feels like them attempting to do Altair over again. But I see a bit of similarity between Aiden Pearce and AssCreed 3's protagonist, Conner.

Aiden Pearce has got that Christian Bale-Batman begins type of brooding vengeful persona. The game should have started with him being aware that he is a criminal, and grew up being a street punk, and learning how to fight and use weapons. Instead, we're supposed to believe that he's just this regular guy who takes care of his family by day, and he does hacker jobs at night. That doesn't fit.

But I like the character, because his character is appropriate for the theme of the game. I can already see the problem with Watch Dogs 2, where they completely ditch the post-Patriot Act Orwellian surveillance  theme that they were trying to aim for here.

Watch Dogs 1 tried to play this theme with genuine seriousness. Watch Dogs 2 is going to be completely un-serious.

70% of all the content in the single player is highly repetitive. 20% percent of the campaign missions are quite good, and there's 10% of the side content that is legitimately great. That "Alone" mini-game that is within your phone is one of the most genuine evoking things that I've seen in a video game. Its like a bad nightmare that you have dreamt of before coming to life in a video game.

Bought Crash Team Racing remaster to play with my GF. Unfortunately its a bit too hard for her, but I am enjoying it a lot more than I expected. The boost mechanic requires a lot of skills, its quite challenging.

Also bought Untitled Goose Game. Im a bit disappointing in this, its a neat little game but its way too short, even with the new to do lists that unlocks post game. Its just not enough content to justify the price point.

It’s absurd how long these games really are. They need to cut down on the next one tremendously.

You know..I don’t mind. I plan on playing It in increments of 5 - 10 hours. But I can see why it’s a turn off for some.

Started RE3. So far so good, in fact the intro was pretty bad ass and slickly directed.

edit: annnnnd about 6 and a half hours later im done with it. I took my time and explored all the nooks and crannies, so I was hoping that would extend the length a bit. Its an entertaining game, but pretty forgettable by RE standards and definitely doesn't hold a candle to the RE2 remake.
