I don't mind the turn based combat but they need to get rid of the padding. If I need to grind for hours to be able to beat a boss, then something is wrong. You never had to go to those lengths in the regular games, and its not like they need to make up for a short story or a lack of content. The game is already long, there's no need to tack those extra hours onto it.

 

edit: They could also trim some of the dungeons. The underground ones in particular felt like they outstayed their welcome.

I'm hoping this was a one time thing and they learn not to do this in the sequels. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that their aim was to make a Yakuza that resembles early Dragon Quest games and jrpgs in general. One of those cliches is obviously the grinding which modern rpgs don't really force the player any more

Man you guys werent kidding. The arena made all the difference in Yakuza Like a Dragon. I managed to level up to 50 and even leveled up a few other jobs in the process.

That part was kinda annoying but overall, fantastic game. I hope the series remains turn based going forward because i'm finding the gameplay more fun and addicting than old yakuza.

I seriously don't understand wtf they were thinking. This is also right after i just finished grinding for 3 million yen to progress. It's such blatant padding that drags the game down a lot

How high should i be leveled to fight Majima in Yakuza LAD? The dude is 48 I'm only 34. I can get him down till when he spawns his clones then everything just goes to hell quick

Might as well scratch of hl alyx, that’s a guaranteed PSVR2 launch game. Every half life becomes an RE4 and is ported to anything that can run it

I think Jet and Faye look fine, Spike is so-so but i'll wait till i see his performance.

I'm honestly surprised Jet is black. It;s not something I ever thought about it in the show, but i guess it makes sense.

Ghost of Tsushima iki island really wasn’t worth it. It’s probably 3 hours of new story content and a bunch of other side stuff. No idea where 5-8 hrs story content came from. What’s there is fantastic but it’s over before you know it. Shame.

Gonna have to tip my hat to twinblade, judgement was fantastic. There’s some problems that I hope they address in the sequel but the overall package was damn good. 
 

Now it’s back to Yakuza LAD and neo the world ends with you 

I own the original on digital which makes the upgrade cheap and still have my original save but I probably won’t unless there’s any significant story content added like FFVII. All the extra stuff sounds nice if I was planning on replaying it or it was my first time but as it is, there’s really nothing of interest for me 

I know what you mean there’s a few of those missions that basically has the game wanting you to piece things together with no help but honestly i say I experienced maybe 3 of those total so you don’t have to worry

You’re still way too early to the point the game hasn’t really pulled back several mechanics the battle system has to offer. I thought the gameplay was mediocre but it gets way better plus you still don’t have a full 4-player party

Theres a certain new story mechanic this game has the first one didn’t, you’ve probably heard about it, but I’ll just say it gives the game somewhat of a visual novel feel in my opinion. Interested to see what you think 

you’ll get it around day 5 or 6 of week 1

I got about half way before I put it down for Yakuza LAD, which i then put down for judgement. I'm on Finale chapter of Judgement so i'm hoping to go back and finish all of them.

When i left off, i honestly felt the game is of similar quality to the first and you know how i felt. I'm still going to finish it though, just like i did the original

True that. One thing I’m loving with judgement that’s a breath of fresh air is the new main characters. I was getting tired of kazuma already and Yagami and Kaito are a perfect replacement. Whoever was the voice acting director or whatever absolutely nailed the English dub

I’m really loving Judgement (ps5) and If it can be considered a Yakuza I’d say it’s probably going to be the 2nd best after 0.

but what I’m not liking is the filler  in between the story beats and the amount of running from point A to b. I know in Yakuza it’s the same way, but I don’t think it’s ever been as excessive as this or maybe it’s just me.

Either way, it’s convinced me that Last Judgement is going to be a day 1
