Yeah Jerry, robbery... Where there was an elevated rate for 8 years following the gun buyback...

:mindblown:

What do you think 1996 to 2004 is?

And what do you think 1998 to 1999 was??????

And to debunk what you just said.

What do you think 1994 to 1996 was????????????? Why it was increase. But how is that possible, Australians had GUNS to defend themselves?

I love, you only want to argue for a 5 year period, and not the 18 years after wards. LOL Even though your argument is about LONG-TERM effects.

Too many stupid Americans own guns. It's a shame your constitution makes it a right to own guns. it should be a privilege not a right. The British aren't coming back.

I didn't ask you if a machete CAN kill you in one.

I asked you what are the chances that a machete hit can kill you compared to a bullet?

They're lower.............you know this.

I don't give a shit that I talk down to you. You make a bad argument, I point out that its not going to win.

If you want to prove me wrong............then that requires you, y'know.........proving me wrong.

The numbers aren't on your side. And I think you DO KNOW this.........which makes me question why you are trying to argue this.

And the only answer I can think of is: jonb is just incredibly butthurt about me. If you got a better answer, let me know.

A guy I work with was shot six times and he's still alive, and I've seen people killed in one swing from a machete...

A leveling off of an already dramatically increased level of robbery.

Uh huh.....................does that change anything I just said about PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS?????????????????????

Yes or No?

I know a guy who won $20,000 as a casino.................so, take out a second-mortgage on your house and go to Winstar, right????

No, they didn't level off.

They are at historic lows.

In fact, the most recent government report on crime trends in Australia says, “Homicide in Australia has declined over the last 25 years. The current homicide incidence rate is the lowest on record in the past 25 years.”

Looks like the "No Guns" strategy is winning................until you can find sustainable trends that prove it wrong.

You're theory only has a 5 year "trend".  You've been trending wrong for EIGHTEEN years since.

Waiting for the fad to end?

What is with the left? Why do they continually try to restrict and take our rights away while the right tries to continually protect and strengthen them... It's mind boggling.

Notice how he doesn't have a rational argument anymore.......

So he goes to Plan B:

Act like a victim.

yikes, those gun laws definitely DONT work.

didn't we tell in the first page that LA has no actual gun laws for the city.

Oh that's right...............since you made this thread.........you haven't read basic things that prove you wrong. Probably about 26 reading comprehension failures in that same period, as well.

California

  • Subject to local, state and federal background checks including NICS and ATF screening
  • Need to be granted a permit to possess a firearm with a strong justification for it
  • Must be 21 to have a concealed carry permit
  • Must complete an approved firearms safety course
  • The percentage of population with a permit is 0.03%
  • There are only 11,867 legal firearm owners
  • No open carry
  • Doesn't have reciprocity with any other states gun laws

Yet people are getting smoked left and right in California...

Yeah.............its called States Lines.

People pass them.

Which is why gun control advocates talk about FEDERAL gun control regulation across all states.

Thanks for just emphasizing an ALREADY ESTABLISHED talking point. :hest:

They have no reciprocity with any other state meaning it's illegal to possess said gun the second you enter California even if you're from a state and up to date on everything.

Gun control doesn't do anything.

Let me say this slower for you..............because you appear to trouble understanding.

MANDATING FEDERAL LAW FOR ALL FIFTY STATES.

Gun control advocates don't want state laws............they want F-E-D-E-R-A-L laws. You're done here.
