Just wait and see. First off, they don't have to push cross-system support because they already have 50+ million systems out in the wild, it's just continued support. This doesn't displace the Xbox One S, it doesn't displace the Xbox One X, the systems don't even have to be on sale to be supported. Secondly by removing the Xbox One X from sale it takes their current high end system out of the retail sales loop. It not only removes the possible product confusion surrounding the name; it creates a clear dichotomy at retail between the Xbox One S and the Xbox Series X not only generationally but in terms of cost as well. They only need one next-generation system, there's multiple ways to purchase it, you don't have to actually buy games which even further lowers the cost ceiling, the branding is already solidified and the Xbox One S fills the budget void. Of course there's going to be a digital variant of the Series X, I've said that about a hundred times, but Lockhart is not being billed as that and what it's being billed as I think is a total farce. Every MS game is now multi platform with PC. They still count as Xbox exclusives. I'm ok with Death Stranding still being counted as an exclusive, I'm not ok with the claim that Xbox has no more exclusives because Microsoft happens to make the operating system for PCs.
