Ive never been against mask wearing or social distancing. It sucks, but I do it like im told. I was advocating for a much harsher total lockdown rather than a half assed one. At least with a complete

I'll help you think for yourself here. Are you saying that there has been no reporting of flu or pneumonia deaths during COVID?

or

Are you stating that the numbers for both aren't in line with the previous years' reporting?

also

did you actually think about anything you wrote  or was this the first "clever" retort you intellect could construct?

I know you think you're being clever but at least do some research before posting.

During the 2019-2020 influenza season, CDC estimates that influenza was associated with 38 million illnesses, 18 million medical visits, 405,000 hospitalizations, and 22,000 deaths

and here a link for the pneumonia deaths by state.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/flu_pneumonia_mortality/flu_pneumonia.htm

Now go look at the Covid19 deaths...... yea... Covid19 dwarfs both this year.

But wait, I thought you said if Trump lost Covid19 would disappear and the media wouldn't cover it anymore?

Didn't I already make a post several months ago in which pneumonia deaths were actually wildly much higher during this year than in previous years?

So to answer your question.................if you're insinuating that pneumonia deaths just magically stopped being counted, you're incredible wrong. They have actually spiked as well, which is indicative that those are actually COVID deaths that were classified as pneumonia deaths.

I bet you really, really, REALLY thought you had a fantastic observation to use against "da libs", didn't you?

It was. Until it started spreading like wildfire and Americans didn't give a shit about social distancing anymore.

It never got weaker.  It was always as bad but now we are seeing exponential growth and death... but I doubt the virus ever got weaker.

It's actually very common with most viruses. A virus wants to live and spread, if it kills its host its killing itself.

Death toll is not a ratio.

again with a highly infectious disease like Corona virus, once you start hitting critical mass that ratio doesn't matter anymore because the DEATH TOLL gets so high and this are actually human beings not just numbers.

The fatality rate is as high as 9.7% in some countries and is 2% in US and 3.3% in Canada.

And because its highly infectious... if everyone in America gets it..  That will 6.6 million deaths..... yea Cooke that's nothing.... you're still dumb as a bag of rocks.

MAY be mutating. Article from April 2020.

Plus it was spiking in April then started to go down because of social distancing over the summer and being able to do activities outside.  Now we are forced indoors, people are tired of it and there are over 2 thousand deaths per day in USA.  Stop being an idiot and look at what's happening around you.

I guess you're just trolling but to say that it got weaker is bullshit. :kaz:

It never got less deadly.

I don't understand why people refuse to understand the different between death RATE and overall death totals.

Yes it's infecting more people but killing less people that are infected.

It's a ratio. It's really not hard to understand. YES it's still deadly and horrible, but it's not as deadly as the first wave in feb/march/april.

Except it doesn't prove your theory that its weaker.

If anything, its almost certainly due to better, more experience healthcare treatment NOW in the fall compared to what they knew back in March. And with treatment drugs slowly the progression of the virus in a patients body.

But, if there are more infected..............we will run out of hospital beds. That means we will have people who are infected, who COULD GET the treatment to deal with the virus..............except the hospital has no space for them, so they will die, the same way they died in March.

If we run out of hospital beds, the death rate will literally jump. Not to mention, everybody else who goes to a hospital for REGULAR stuff will now increase their chances of dying because they won't have room for them.

Sweetie, you're not fooling anybody. You're clearly trying to downplay this.

Could you explain why you’re still a mod after losing a bet you made with yourself? It’s like you can’t concede even after you clearly lost.

Sure we know viruses mutate and this is common knowledge.  The coronavirus is mutating — does it matter? (nature.com)

Is it getting weaker or stronger?  Don't care.  2000+ deaths a day in America.  Good thing it got weaker otherwise we'd be looking at 5000+ deaths a day right?

If anything a fast muting virus is horrible news. :kaz:

So I guess you're saying that 2000 deaths a day is acceptable.  You be you Cooke.

But look at it this way.  13 M total cases so far and 250 k deaths in USA right?

Total population of US is around 330 million.  So if 250k people die per 13 million.  That leaves 317 million are still to be infected. 317 million divided by 13 million is  24.38461538461538

24.38461538461538 x 250k = 6,096,153.846153846 more deaths to come?

I guess that's acceptable according to this idiot. :kaz:

And yes, I know about herd immunity so gtfo with that shit.

Lockdowns are just to prevent deaths until we get a vaccine. I'm not sure why you are against the lockdowns?

As long as it mutates into something less severe it's fine. But yes it could be much much worse.

plus exponential growth.. numbers double and triple, quadruple more and more quickly as people are exposed... lockdowns prevent the massacre until we can safely infect people with a vaccine to bring on immunity.  It's only a few more months @Cooke (not admin cant help you should be able to get back to your activities next summer so stop your crying and wear a mask.
