Sounds like the next AC is going to be a full on gaas game

Ubisoft is developing what sounds like the most ambitious Assassin's Creed title yet, one that is basically a "massive online platform that evolves over time," according to a report that was subsequently confirmed, at least in part, by the publisher.

This game is codenamed Assassin's Creed Infinity, according to Bloomberg's sources, and then confirmed by Ubisoft's own statement.

The report said Infinity, or whatever final name the game is given if development is seen through to release, will feature multiple settings and "room to expand" in the months and years after launch. The games within the Infinity "platform" could "look and feel different," but they will each be connected in some manner, the report said.

Welp, guess im officially giving up on AC. Gaas + its called Infinity. I can't imagine how much mind numbing content its going to have.

They could re-use maps from previous games.

Like, you are a test subject in an Animus, and you can basically enter any time period from any of the previous games.

Yeah, the tweet in the article makes it sound alright.

Like the appeal of AC games is the time periods, locations, and historical characters. I don't understand how people get excited about spending 40+ hours doing the chores and fetch quests they pad these games out with, so any chance to move away from that into smaller stories or towards a Hitman model sounds fine to me.
