Apple is looking through all your photos to find kiddy porn

Recommended Posts

I’m surprised the backlash is as big as it has been.

Apple is only bringing themselves in line with other big tech firms. They scan on the cloud, Apple apparently encrypts the cloud…or at least parts of it, which I wasn’t aware of. So they have to do their scanning before the encryption takes place.

I can see the cause for concern though, NSA & GCHQ will be all over Apple for this. The UK government already wants to make it illegal to have content deemed “embarrassing” for UK politicians, all this because little Hitler Matt Hancock got caught being a massive fucking hypocrite. In the hands of a authoritarian government like the UK or China this would definitely be abused.

Yep it's just stupid to think.

Just assume that ANYTHING you have on your phone, has been viewed by someone, or scanned by some thing.

Who would take pictures of shit that can obviously be traced right back to you and your phone?

They know with pinpoint accuracy your location, they can hear you, they can see you too.. if they want.

Just use your phone like a normal person and don't do illegal shit with it.

I know the whole privacy rights thing is sensitive, and there's good reason to be worried about certain things in the future... but if you want to use futuristic technology... that's usually what happens.  To offer the convenience and features that they do.. like your devices being synced, your phone position automatically finding the closest shit to you.. the cheapest prices.. ect ect... all requires your credentials and location.  We like being able to log into our phones with a fingerprint or by facial recognition... it's more secure... but it costs us our information and data... and they have to build a profile of that data to allow us to use these forward looking features. Facetime with family across the world.. Being able to tap our phones to pay for shit.. this and that and the other... these services all require giving up our privacy.
