I put up my PS3 MGS HD Collection for sale because of this upcoming collection would have made it irrelevant.

Who cares. I love those games but is anyone really dying to play MGS2 again? I might be jaded but the MGS series is like one of those summer movies you watch once and never watch again. Make something new already.

Of course people care.  A ton of people were so excited when this collection was announced that it maybe would mean that Konami would treat the series with the respect it deserves and put out a great collection to play leading up to an eventual new game...  I mean, just look at the amount of remasters and rereleases these days.. I'd say it's obvious that people care about being able to play classic games in enhanced form on their current platforms.
