It probably will, but I don't think the adoption is going to be anywhere as fast as streaming movies or music. Those are passive forms of entertainment, and it's just a one-way thing. Gaming is a whole 'nother beast. In America at least, we'll need an Eisenhower-style government that can build an interstate fiber network like they did the interstate highways before we get speeds that can handle this type of thing with no latency. Until then, forget anything that requires twitchy reflexes.

The assumption that whatever google puts out is something Sony absolutely has to match is silly. Google's hardware comes with latency issues in every game played. Sony's doesn't, assuming it's a box.

They did mention a new chromecast during the keynote for your TV, but it seems like they're targetting all devices, and via chrome.

I can't say you're wrong because BR games are still growing, but I think they need to spend time looking for that next big thing. BR games are growing so quickly that I think they're going to fizzle out just as fast. Nobody plays Angry Birds anymore, and that shit was everywhere. I'd want the next Minecraft on the platform more than the next Fortnite.

I suppose you can try and call Fortnite a casual game. Not sure when third person battle royal shooters became "casual". Back in the Wii days casual games were just mini game compilations.

Tech was demonstrated with Assassins Creed. It's better than anything else out there, at this point. First party studio announced and headed by Jade Raymond. They didn't show games, but they did show proof of concepts. Basically they're were microsoft is at with games, but lightyears ahead in terms of infrastructure.
