It's burnout. AAA games don't do a whole lot for me anymore, and the ones that do are typically stand-out. The biggest issue is that there's just so much bullshit in gaming today that gets in the way of the actual game. Example: I'm playing Pokemon Fire Red, and it's leaps and bounds better than the last pokemon I played (X or Y, can't remember). You walk out your house, pick up your pokemon, name your rival "BITCH" and go. Compared to X/Y with all the uber evolutions and feeding cakes and tummy rubs and all that anime bullshit. Ugh.

I always thought FF9 was the weakest of the PS1 FF games. Took me a while figure out why: it's the action queue. You queue up an action, then everything starts playing out, but because you can't see x number of turns into the future, your action becomes detrimental because 3-4 people have to go before you pull it off. FF7 and FF8 either don't have this issue, or it's not as pronounced. It makes FF9 feel like you have action lag.
