my PS4 is constantly disconnecting from my wifi network. why?

Recommended Posts

Every time it shuts off for power saving mode or whatever, it'll lose connection and i have to go back into settings and manually set up the wi-fi network again.

Loses connection during games rarely, but it happens. then i have to set up the wi-fi in settings again.

My internet is good, all my other devices don't disconnect.

Faulty console?

Well, it's no secret that the Wi-Fi module is complete and utter garbage on PS4. Doesn't matter if its base or Pro, they're both the same trash. You should probably go wired with a powerline adapter or run a longer cable.

Maybe he could solder the Xbox wifi adapter into his PS4 so it actually works properly :hest:

My Wii had the same issue if it was plugged into a power strip.  So I plugged it in to the wall and it fixed the problem.

I can’t say I’ve ever had a WiFi issue with the PS4. Even the OG. Granted, I would just use it for downloads and Netflix.
