I'm leaving for Iceland on Thursday

Recommended Posts

I've been to three out of four of those images.  Spend a few days in Reykjavik; it's a neat city and there's a lot of cool shit to explore and find.

Also it's a socialist country, so you can bring back stories about how it's not Venezuela to trigger the incels. :cruise:

It's also a heavily inbred country which requires dating apps specifically so you don't sleep with your own family. That's a fact too.

My hotel is there and I rented a car.

Good idea.  The sights are a wonder to behold, but the drive in between...talk about volcanic desert. :]

I did a tour but driving around seems like it would be really simple. Many of the big sights are located on or around the ring road so you rarely need to diverge from it.

I was thinking of bringing about $500 USD for the trip (there's a currency exchange at the airport) and charging everything else on my Visa card. That enough? I know Iceland is expensive.

No need to really bring cash, most of your purchases will be able to put through your credit card, which is fairly in line with the daily exchange rate.

Yeah. @Ike No need to bring too much cash but make sure you're not near your credit limit on your credit card. I would also recommend having a secondary payment method, like a ATM card. My local bank card was accepted there and it did come in handy.

Visa Card is fine; they accept that and Master Card most places I was at, and everywhere in Reykjavik.  I don't remember using cash much, now that I think about it.  All card.
