By the Numbers

As of this morning, here’s a recap of some of the devastation across the state so far:

The fires have killed at least five people so far, including three people found in a house in Napa county, a fourth person in Solano county and a PG&E utility worker who died while clearing infrastructure.

  • At least 33 people have suffered injuries across the fires.
  • More than 500 structures have been destroyed.
  • More than 60,000 people have been ordered to evacuate.
  • The fires have burned across more than 500,000 acres.
  • More than 10,000 lighting strikes over several days caused hundreds of fires, including a dozen significant ones.
  • More than 10,000 firefighters are working on the frontlines, but authorities say they are stretched thin.
  • More than 1,300 incarcerated firefighters are currently battling the blazes.

The air quality has also become incredibly smoggy and hard to breathe you’d think we’re in China. It’s so bad. Every day feels like it’s cloudy but it’s just all the smoke in the air.

We're also in the middle of a record-breaking heatwave with the temp going above 100 degrees everyday for the past week. Most nights it was still above 80 at midnight. And the state's run by monkeys so we have we have a banana republic power grid that can't handle the load on hot days so we have random rolling blackouts during the hottest part of the day.

It's been fun.

What did Texas do to earn god sending two hurricanes their way next week? :ben:

Stretch out the potential storm path far enough like Trump did with a Sharpie last time, and you might just hit a blue state. :ben:

One is to get the Californians who thought they could escape to live in Texas and bring their degenerate views over there, the second one is for the Texans that allow them to enter :monosmug:

I was gonna reply to liquid about living in California but it honestly isn't worth getting into everything on this forum. Suffice to say this is the best state in the nation for a reason. :yeshrug:

and that reason is?

I just read that 43% of the state’s firefighters were inmates part of some special prison program.

But because so many prisoners were released due to Covid, there’s now a huge lack of manpower capable of keeping the fires under control.

Just wow....Is there any state that’s as poorly managed and ill prepared as California? Even by Democrat standards this feels like a new low.
