Like selling 30-40M units and having a massive level of MTX isn't enough to develop ten more of these games. I'm all for $60 for games like Call of Duty. None of that really has much to do with it tbh, there isn't going to be a differentiating factor between big games, sp games, mp games, etc, the same way you pay the same base movie price at the cinema regardless if you are watching Avengers with a budget of 300million or if you're watching a small indie film with a budget of 10m. In fact we are lucky that there is so much price experimentation in games and the digital stores allow a huge range of price points. The base video game price of $60usd hasn't increased in over a decade. There is literally next to nothing else in the entertainment industry (or nearly any other) that has been stagnate on price in a time where inflation and decreasing purchasing power has been insane.
