FIREPOWER 951
Devs are trying to get rid of the requirement to launch games on the Series S. The thing is a potato and is making life difficult for them https://wccftech.com/developers-xbox-series-s-dropped/ Only the retards at MS would think it was okay to release “the world’s most powerful console” only to cripple it with a potato sister console so that they can sell a shitty subscription service. sugarhigh 612
For the past year too, so basically they never wanted to support the S.
TLHBO 2,299
Knowing how Microsoft is I wouldn't be surprised if they just abandoned the S. Oh you bought one? Too bad now you got to buy the X.
sugarhigh 612
If MS doesn't drop the requirement, it will lead to unforced PS5 exclusives. At some point the cost of AAA development outweighs the Xbox userbase.
Playstation Tablet 1,884
No way MS drops this. It's impossible.

Twinblade★ 4,237
I said this at the very beginning of the gen. Series S will hold back current gen games much like crossgen games are.

At some point the cost of AAA development outweighs the Xbox userbase. It seems like that would happen, unless Microsoft decides to screw over Xbox Series S customers. At this point, for the developer, the XBox Series X version is now the CHEAPER version to produce, because that is being subsidized by PS5 development. (this will also mean that developers are just going to develop to the PS5 spec, and probably not bother trying to fully optimize for the XsX spec) They now have to devote more money and resources to create an Xbox Series S version. But............what's the point of doing that when Microsoft has BASICALLY TRAINED THEIR IDIOT CUSTOMERS to no longer want to pay $60-$70 for a retail game, because they now want everything on GamePass. [Take a look at Ghost for proof of this.] So if you're the developer, trying to develop a decent AA-quality retail game, or AAA full priced retail game.........why spend resources on making an Xbox Series S version, when BOTH customers from Series S and Series X are turning into fucking cheapskates because they're being promised that all the major games will be on GamePass, and they CLEARLY are not buying retail games at the same percentages as PS5 buyers. We predicted all of these problems over two years ago. Edited October 20, 2022 by jehurey
Playstation Tablet 1,884
The Series S isn't even cheap enough. 300 for 4tflops and half the storage is a joke.
Long Ball Larry 1,385
Future games on S will be cloud based. Pretty obvious how to resolve this issue.
Ike★ 2,960
MS sure does enjoy ruining gaming. Sega died for this. 1
Playstation Tablet 1,884
Series S was made as a lamepass machine why would devs care about it if they arent on gamepass.
