A few hours in Starfield and it is basically Fallout 4 in space.

I get the same feeling I had way back in 2015 when I got Fallout 4.

It is typical Bethesda franchise gaming with the space theme.

And I am not saying this as a bad thing.
Visually speaking  it offers a clean presentation. There is nothing stunning about this game but detail wise, it is really good.

 

There is a ton of menu sorting to do the most basic tasks, so I agree with the video about "Before you buy Starfield".

 

However there is a ton of customization, crafting and perk customization in this game.

 

What do I mean by this?

That back in 2015, Fallout 4 was an 8/10.

Starfield doesn't have that feeling of epicness that Skyrim had back in 2011 but it's still a well done game.

 

Regarding technical difficulties, I don't really care. They will get fixed in a future patch.

 

However I do agree that Starfield needs more optimization for Series X. This game while looking good, it can run way better in the X.

I'll torrent it but it sucks that the main quest is kinda mediocre. Then again it was pretty mediocre in Fallout 4 too.

It's even more like Outer Worlds than Fallout. Very similar scales of planetary exploration from what I've seen. Comparable quality shooting.

It has a bit of Outer Worlds with very light aspects of Elite Dangerous.

 

The planet exploration aspects puzzles me out because it feels so separated from the actual mission.

 

It's not like in Mass Effect where you explore, find the headquarters and execute your mission. 

 

Basically land in a planet, run around, find some landmarks and teleport into them.

 

I am like so what's the exploration perks for? The items and resources counter. What is that for?

 

And then in a side quest, I had to *gasp* plant a satellite relay and with that I had a plethora of extra infraestructures to build depending on the materials that I had.

 

Yeah this is like Fallout 4 all over again.

 

Not necessarily bad though but like I said, this game is an 8.0
