  1. A bit ironic wouldn't you say considering the system that released a year later has more reasons to own it and support than the Pro?
  2. With my background in PC I just don't believe that, at all and I'm sure Remij would attest to this. Take Crysis for example, that game killed PC's in 2007, the best PC's were absolutely murdered then but eventually it was made to run on the Xbox 360 from 2005. Sure it was cut back but that's the point, that's how game development works. The best looking games you're seeing now are the best the X is capable of offering right now, this has more to do with engine limitations and technological presence as it stands now more than this belief that the system is being artificially held back by someth
  3. I'm not saying it's a failure, it's done great but like a lot of Nintendo games this is a franchise that is susceptible to the whims of the core. If it does 5 million in a month I'd say with an install base of 27 million or so that has exhausted a lion's share of that core. It's obviously going to keep selling but it's not like this was a game introduced to a player base of 50 or 60 million or even beyond that. In terms of Breath of the Wild that was more or less a reboot or reinvention of the franchise, it's an atypical Zelda game doing atypical numbers.
  4. Empirically speaking the game doesn't have much left in terms of legs, the growth opportunity is not there. With a system with an install base of 100 million it did 13.29 million LTD, with an install base of 73 million it did 9.35 million LTD. What seems to be happening is the people that were going to EVER buy Smash basically did, remember all that "biggest preorder ever" stuff? Yeah, that was the core, and they've been exhausted. These sales now are the ones who didn't have the opportunity to get it last week, the next week will be stragglers, and the subsequent fore
  5. Or Smash doesn't have legs, the core ate it up instantly and it's falling off.
  6. Fixed that for you. P.S. Where is Pokemon I understand that, that's decent for "a game", but this isn't "a game", this is Smash. This is the game sheep have been waiting 14 months for since the last big game Nintendo had, and sales dropped by over half in the second week and it fell to 4th place. TSHBR
  7. That means sales dropped by more than half lol, wordsmith that away lol
  8. sheep Red Dead Redemption 2 has retaken the No.1 spot in the UK physical games charts four weeks after it last held the position. It does mean last week's No.1 - Super Smash Bros Ultimate - has taken a tumble down to No.4. It seems like a heavy fall, but actually sales only dropped 52 per cent week-on-week, which is a decent result for a game in its second week on sale Last Week This Week Title 2 1 Red Dead Redemption 2 3 2 FIFA 19 7 3
  9. Developers scale back, they do not build up. You have no earthly idea what you're talking about. PC gaming is the model of game development in general, they overshoot greatly and then dial back aspects for platforms individually and deploy. The same happens with consoles which mind you share most games with PC. Forza Horizon 4 for example was built around the X. Did that negatively affect it? No, it's the best looking racer in existence. Did it negatively affect the game for the base system? No. Games are easy to scale back and are designed to do so. There's not this in
  10. Why would you think that? Games even now are being designed around the X and it's a minority late release product. Day one the Anaconda would be the base for development and no doubt the most adopted as people are willing to spend $500 or so out of the gate en masse with a new gen.
  11. Isn't GT Sport being completely revamped because there was no game there
  12. This game seems to be so all over the place that even if you took in every piece of media there is for it you still wouldn't have a clue what in the hell is going on lol.
  13. With them making such a software and services push going forward (where all the money is made) I think your general idea is right but not the pricing. I think they're going to be a loss leader like they were with the 360, coming in just as hot for a lower price and come in hotter for a little bit more or maybe even the same cost. I know that's a big front loaded expense and loss but with their services and software aims it could easily be offset. You also have to think they're no doubt going to have those financing options available at launch as well. If the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has show
  14. That all depends on what Microsoft is willing to eat on the back end. Their base S model could theoretically be near as powerful as whatever the PS5 is for less money while the other is a decent to substantial leap over it for more. They're pushing for software and services adoption, this could be another 360 gen where they eat the cost and offset it with the former. Take an initial loss on the hardware and gain beyond the loss from software and service purchases.
  15. There's nothing idiotic about it, an S and X SKU out of the gate is brilliant. They can have a SKU that's comparable to the PlayStation 5 for less money and one that comes in hotter for more money. The premium customer gets what they want and the budget customer also gets what they want while Sony is stuck in this in between limbo. They know exactly what they're doing.
  16. They're missing out on like 20 big games in the first 3 months of the year... "Bu...bu...but Smash!" Holy shit who cares lol
  17. It gets hard, very hard. I'm in a resource and environmental bind at the moment trying to work it out. The game is all risk and reward with trial and error, enemies may seem easy but as you get further down other obstacles present themselves and you have to be tactical with how you proceed. The blue fire is your return point upon death. When you die it is extinguished as each life is a different wanderer (person). So if you die a second time without lighting a new blue fire you have to trek back down from the very beginning to where your previous wanderer died, and you have to go t
  18. Are you trying to make fun of a superior input method lol? That's like making fun of a steering wheel and suggesting you turn the wheels with handlebars
  19. This can be avoided by taking positioning cues from your team. You don't need to communicate to read what's going on.
