[UK] Battlefield 5 physical sales down more than half on Battlefield 1, prices slashed

MS marketing deals are cursed. When MS finances your games it's bound to be a disaster. See: Battlequeef Vaginal and Fallout 76 this Holiday. Good job on choosing the right games, MS.  :kaz:

Also for historical proof.

Dead Rising 4 -> shutting down of Capcom Vancouver.

Scalebound -> dead before arrival.

PUBG -> got destroyed by Fortnite in the battle royal genre.

MS money is tainted. :dame:

  • crytek/ryse, disgraced and fell off the face of the earth
  • respawn/titanfall, sequel bombed, forced to make licensed star wars trash from now on
  • crystal dynamics/tomb raider, sequel bombed, handed off to rotating dev
  • remedy/quantum break, next game will probably bomb
  • insomniac/sunset, next game a monster ps4 exclusive

only insomniac and team ninja cracked the code, go playstation or get out :dame:

DICE is falling apart at the seams.  They're bleeding key people and EA's been fucking up left and right.  Not a good combination.

I wonder what EA is thinking right now?

They've squandered a lot of good will the last couple of years, but they're still seeing money.  GaaS is lucrative because there's a small amount of the userbase who are addictive retards and would spend money on a pink darth vader outfit in WWI-era Battlefield.

What's to stop Activision from expanding Call of Duty even more, and creating a spinoff online mode that replicates Battlefield?

There's a new console gen coming soon, they could working on a new game engine to do the same scale as a Battlefield game.

Given what EA usually does with betas it will probably be a month out from launch at best.

But, this game would need a real Beta to test its online capabilities, right? Its meant to be a heavily online-integrated game like Destiny, right?

Does Bioware have experience in making online games? The Old Republic.

You would think they should but don't be surprised when they don't. And yes, this is a full online game as a service like Destiny.

Nope, this will be their first attempt just like Fallout 76 was for Bethesda. Let's hope they have better results than Bethesda lol

Wait a minute, we're THREE MONTHS AWAY from Anthem coming out?

Is that for real?

Are they fixing to start a beta, anytime soon?

Anthem's going to be a GaaS title, regardless of what their PR says.  The first three to six months of every GaaS title is the Beta.

Lol, can't get a World War 2 game to be more receptive and a better seller than a World War 1 game?  :Jeff:

Delayed launch

8 Maps at launch

Instructing your fans not to buy your game

A wave of staff losses

Stock down to $84 from $148 from the summer

:ovolol:

I hope this is a wake up call to both EA and DICE. They couldn't have handled this game's marketing and release any worse. A studio with DICE's pedigree should have no problem making a amazing WW2 MP shooter but somehow they botched it.

I still enjoy the game for what it is but its clearly wasted potential.

I love how DICE has utterly ruined EA.

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving developer/publisher.

Hardly ruined EA.

They still have their line of sports titles.

FIFA rakes a lot of sales worldwide.

I'd say it's all EA's fault for constantly releasing the Battlefield games barebones and then releasing dlc way too late.
