Yes........because you ENCOUNTER A POLICE OFFICER in either instance. We are talking about getting shot because of people encountering police and the police officer committing brutality. It is not restricted to "violent crimes" being committed because alot of these police killings of blacks occurr during REGULAR TRAFFIC STOPS. Is a regular traffic stop a VIOLENT OFFENSE???????????? Yet blacks have a 2.8x time more likelihood of getting shot during those police encounters, even though white people have 2.5x more police encounters. There's no way you're escaping those numbers. Again, should have never got to that point and the cop should be charged here, but what if this dude was hammered (no idea if he was or not) but he could have easily went driving and killed a family of 4. again, bad cop, made worse by a shitty individual who simply resisted what the officer was asking for.
