CEO of Nintendo Russia is running an import company to avoid the official Nintendo sales ban in Russia

Recommended Posts

a report by Russian outlet Kommersant has highlighted the recent sale of Metroid Prime Remastered in Russia by a company named Achivka, which has been set up by Nintendo Russia boss Yasha Haddazhi to import Nintendo games and consoles to Russian game stores.

While it is legal in Russia for anyone to import goods without the manufacturer's approval, the report raises questions over Nintendo's involvement with Achivka, and the extent to which it was aware it was importing Nintendo products into Russia, and being run by its local branch CEO

We get all the releases here day 1, they run a business of limited run games so I don't have to order from the US. All japanese only releases like fatal frame physical come out here as well for both PS4 and Switch. The stores import all play Asia releases and all limited run game releases now.

You can find japanese releases and limited run games in brick on mortar stores.

Who cares if Nintendo or Playstation leave. The sanctions don't even work regardless zero difference to the consumer.

There has been reporting of common tech devices like laptops skyrocketing in price in Russia due to sanctions. They do affect regular people in Russia, but they don't hurt Putin and the Russian ruling class. Western foreign policy analysts will say sanctions are designed to foment resistance against the hostile leader but it really just immiserates working people.

Bill Clinton's sanction policy in Iraq famously led to the death of 500k children, which Madeline Albright said was justified.

It looks like that is happening:

This is a way that US economic warfare backfires in the long term. At the same time the US racks up sanction regimes on enemy nations (Russia, Iran, Venezuela, China, etc), it's also creating a new hostile international trade bloc because these countries can only trade with eachother. It puts China in an even stronger position if anyone is concerned about such things.

Buy as many switches as you want, your country is a shithole and the majority of the world hates you. You’re going to lose a war to a neighbour who is a fraction of your size.

@-GD-X lock this political mess of a thread

but before you do that, Belarus has had the same "president" (cough dictator cough) since 1994.... Nintendo has also  suspended sales with them. And I applaud them for it, more entertainment businesses should cease supporting corruption by allowing a population escapism from how shit their country is. If you live in a fucked up environment, stop distracting yourself and stay woke.
