Developers and publishers wouldn't bother if Sony is the only one making games on physical media for an add on device. It would be niche as fuck. The entire world has Internet now, and most games require internet to even play single player.

We shall see

that’s a fancy way of saying 6% of America doesn’t have access to broadband.

still 6% …..

That's counting slow ass speeds too as low as 25Mbs.  In some areas in America the wired internet is so bad your phone has faster access so people don't even pay for both and just use their phone.

"Even in areas where broadband is available, approximately 100 million Americans still do not subscribe."

100 million + 1/4 of Rural America + 1/3 of the Tribal territories = more than 1/3 of the entire US population

Yes more than 1/3 of the country which is the biggest video game market in the world does not have broadband, access to broadband or access to decent speeds.

It's in worse in other countries, yes in certain countries it's better as well.

But point is too huge of a segment of the population doesn't have broadband to go 100% digital and expect to sell 100 million consoles + over a billion in software.

You need both a physical and digital presence to achieve that.

No, 6% do not have access to broadband.

Im not saying more don’t have it.

but 6% don’t have access to it.

im willing to bet 5.5% of those people will never be interested in video games.

Something occurred to me...

Whether Xbox goes all digital, or makes a price cut, what ever happens they lose. So I don't see any point especially if they don't have Activision.

And the original Xbox Series X, the ONLY PIECE OF HARDWARE with a disc drive, is going to be "end of life" meaning they will not manufacture anymore.

They're basically telling major publishers who sell $70 games at retail "don't bother making games for our platform, anymore."

The 500 Series is going to look like such a shit deal with a 600 PS5 Pro available. Plus you can expand the storage on Playstation for pennies without MS cucking you with their custom storage solution.

The same people complaining about gamepass devaluing games are bitching about not being able to buy used games for cheaper. lol.

I know you're a moron but a lot of the times game prints run out and you can't buy these games new even if you wanted to. Some prints like NISA for example can sell out in a month or limited prints can only be brought from other collectors.

it makes physical copies worth absolutely nothing more than the cost of the digital game.

percieved value =/= real value. In 30 years these games will be worth a big fat $0.

Go check the SNES and Megadrive physical markets genius were games go for 150-200. Or Rule of Rose PS2 that costs like 1000 on ebay.

Very specific games in very specific conditions, factory sealed.

imagine waiting 30 years to get a ROI of $100

btw, rule of rose on ps2 is $25 on eBay.
