  1. Yeah that's a huge factor. Also I think the GN's critique is all over the place. Accuracy in content is one thing, but the Billet labs thing is kinda nobody's business. Also he rambles for a stupid amount of time contextualizing and explaining the reasoning behind his critiques, I just don't care. I find it kind of manipulative that GN refers to voices from "the community" is if they're all on his side or that the community speaks with on voice. Angsty teenage ass view of the world. GN has a history of taking legitimate tech issues and turning them into a good vs evil c
  2. Well I just played for 3 hours and a lot happened. I went into a rage and torched a house, I became friends with an underground society, I made evening plans with Shadowheart... thats not even half, plus I've got what I need to open a fucked up looking book, so that's just in my back pocket. The plot/quest development is just relentless. All kinds of stuff I found in the last 5-8 hours is just avoiding other major stuff so I can level up a bit. I'm getting the hang of combat a bit. You can get sick advantages by dividing your group so that 1-2 enter tactics mode, but you can switch
  3. I started listening to this and it felt like a waste of time. Between this and the meta conversation about whether or not BG3 "set a new standard in RPGs".
  4. Yeah that's the main reason to make a Larian account as far as I can tell
  5. I don't think so. My main is a barbarian and they have certain dialog advantages. Your race and backstory will also play into it. And you have other party members with their own attributes.
  6. There's every reason to expect it will be great on PS5. It's not too demanding on PC hardware on high settings. Also the gamepad support is excellent.
  7. Now that GOTY is determined (tshbo), can we actually talk about this game? I'm pretty obsessed. This is the first game I've played that feels *next-gen* beyond pretty graphics. Every single character interaction goes into a cinematic scene, even when you're talking to a frog. I'm still early in act one, but the density of interactions and the surprising ways to resolve conflicts is beyond anything I've seen from Bioware or Bethesda at their best. I was just wandering in a swamp on the edge of the map and stumbled on a letter hidden in a tree, which allowed me to expose the secret m
  8. I still play Rocket League almost every day. I'd love to get into a new online shooter, but nothing has hit the sweet spot yet.
  9. Nah there's a switch in my house and it's trash. id rather not have trash in my house.
  10. Is this system wars? It's a shitty system. Doesn't need further explanation.
  11. That sucks, do better. Demons Souls and Dead Space exist.
  12. No PC version is braindead. The Switch footage looks no better than the 360 version.
  13. I don't put stock in that at all. Valve is just a company. But they're a company that has had many chances to be shitty and resisted. They have a 20 year track record for managing conflicting interests between players and publishers. There's no guarantee it will continue, but this special trustworthiness is obviously valuable to them.
  14. I wonder how much the retail side actually matters. Like Amazon I could see making a difference, but it's not hard to order a Steam Deck. Especially if you're already a Steam user.
  15. 3 mill "several days after release" https://www.ign.com/articles/square-enix-responds-to-final-fantasy-16-sales-concern-points-to-ps5-install-base Case closed.
  16. This year might be the last straw for xbox. If Starfield has a bad launch there's not much on deck for a while.
  17. Holy shit, day 1. Drummer is a great choice for lead. EDIT: Epic Games exclusive. RIP. Get fucked.
  18. It sounds like there might only be 10-15M Series X's sold. If MS cut the Series S requirement, there's even less reason to do an Xbox port.
  19. I didn't realize the Series S is selling around parity with Series X, maybe the majority of Xbox Series consoles sold. There's no way MS can drop the support requirement.
