lol I love that @DynamiteCop! Dynocrap is trying to find a way out of this forum, he's probably knows there's a long road of ass-rape waiting for him when his "predictions" come home to roost. He has probably figured that RDR2 is the only thing they can celebrate on XBX, and its all downhill from here. He would be right to come to that assessment.

In tel lin gence Qube!!!!! I must be the biggest fan of that game. And its awesome because I remember reading that getting the game wasn't possible through PSN. That would make this worth it. Good thing I had it pre-ordered. Aside from that, I like that it isn't RPG heavy, it seems like its focused towards more arcadey experiences. Some choices are puzzling (Rainbow Six???). I think Syphon Filter 2 would be considerably better than the first game. If it had Colony Wars, I'd be totally satisfied.

Oh, by the way, they looked into the files of the RDR2 Companion App for smartphones, and it distinctly mentions PC gaming settings. Welp, looks like it only lasted for 2.5 days for the lemcels.

I see a little bit of the same type of mistakes they made when San Andreas came out, where they are putting game mechanics in things that people weren't really asking for.

DF - Red Dead Redemption Analyzed. 4K Texture pack was fake news.

Actually, 4 minutes into the video he says "no evidence of dynamic scaling so far, but I wouldn't rule it out. It could happen somewhere." And he says that he's only got two days of footage to examine, and he was examining all 4 versions, so he hadn't gotten well into the game. You can clearly tell that he's only taken footage in Valentine. AND he actually tells us something that Digital Foundry never told us. PS4pro in downsampled mode is the only version that provides a locked 30fps at all time. Which is perfect for me. -
The conversation mechanic with the NPC can sometimes be pointless. Like it you cycle though characters in the same room, and go back to somebody you already spoke with multiple times, you can now greet them again with a slightly different back and forth conversation. It makes the conversation stuff feel broken.

RDR2 (X) vs HZD (Pro) - 4K Graphics and Details Comparison

The only immediate thing that I'd say Horizon ZD comes up short is environmental physics models. And simply not having enough side quests to justify exploring the whole map. But Guerilla got SO MANY things right, and their game came out 18 months ago. And remember that they were designing a wilderness that has to look alien-like. Whereas RDR2 is just trying to emulate Pacific Northwest, southwest American landscapes. Wouldn't surprise me if Guerilla really adds alot more stuff in a sequel. -
I think that Rockstar falls in love too much with their own storytelling. Dan Houser legitimately thinks he's a good storyteller with his writing. Rockstar games have stories, they may have some nice memorable parts, but they just serviceable stories. Rockstar thinks that gamers are enamored with wanting to see the story in their games.

A couple hours in RDR2.... this game is off to a slow ass start

I'm using the RDR2 companion app, finally was able to fix my login issues with Rockstar Social Club. The map COULD be useful, but it doesn't follow your icon around. So if its in the center when it starts tracking you, and you move a certain distance, the map stands still and your icons moves out of the frame. Its dumb. And the Journal is probably a good way to get immersed in Arthur's story, but it allows zooming in if you read it during the game, but you can't zoom in when reading it from the app. Since its forced landscape mode, the cursive writing is a bit hard to r -

I just got done playing Witcher 3's main story a few days ago. Yeah, it does move faster than this game (so far). -

I read a kotaku article with some tips, and they said to not waste your money buying guns in the game, that you will end up getting almost every single type of gun through the missions. But do spend your money upgrading it. And if I read it correctly. You can drop your guns and leave them at any time, because you will be able to get your gun back at your saddle. Same for your hat. So, for a game thats trying to achieve realism, That's really pretty crazy. -
What are you watching, listening to, and reading? thread

I just watched Game 3 of the World Series. That went over 7 hours long, and went to 18 innings. Boston has their Game 4 starter, Nathan Eovaldi, come out in relief from the 11th inning onwards, and he threw almost 100 pitches in relief for seven innings with practically minutes to warm up. And he gave up a homerun to Dodgers hitter Max Muncy in the bottom of the 18th to end the game. That's crazy. And Boston, who was really looking like they were going to win this series comfortably, has now got to worry about their pitching staff being almost entirely exhausted. -

I don't like how alot of small interactions require buttons to be held for at least a second, sometimes 2 or 3 seconds. Like grabbing food and other items from drawers and cabinets. Like you have to HOLD the button down for at least a second to begin the animation to grab the item, and you have to do that for each item. Doesn't make much sense. -

What I'm worried is if the game will have certain areas for the beginning of the game, and never give you a reason to come back to that part of the map. Also (minor spoiler when opening the game case) The map that comes with the game shows a large land with multiple regions, and then on the other side is the map of the previous game, and that looks almost exactly the same, But I wonder why its being displayed separately from the rest? -
First disc done, took almost exactly 30 mins. Second one is loading. Thankfully, the plastic case isn't like the one from the photo leak from last week. I don't like that case where it places one disc overlapping the second disc. Its got a divider plastic inside that keeps both discs separate from each other. Nice sturdy plastic, too.
