Nearly 80% of Americans say Biden won White House, ignoring Trump's refusal to concede: Reuters/Ipsos poll

By Chris Kahn

3 Min Read

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Nearly 80% of Americans, including more than half of Republicans, recognize President-elect Joe Biden as the winner of the Nov. 3 election after most media organizations called the race for the Democrat based on his leads in critical battleground states, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Biden - who needed 270 Electoral College votes to win - had 279 of those votes to 214 for Trump with results in three states not yet complete, according to Edison Research. In the popular vote, Biden got 76.3 million, or 50.7% of the total, to 71.6 million, or 47.6%, for Trump.

The Reuters/Ipsos national opinion survey, which ran from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday, found that 79% of U.S. adults believe Biden won the White House. Another 13% said the election has not yet been decided, 3% said Trump won and 5% said they do not know.

The results were somewhat split along party lines: about six in 10 Republicans and almost every Democrat said Biden won.

I'd feel a bit better if we killed a little bit more of that Republican fanaticism and got them to admit that its over.

6 in 10 Republicans admitting it is an okay start, but we need to be close to 8 in 10 Republicans in order to be able to walk over the remaining defiant ones.

Decision Desk HQ officially calls the state of Arizona, Joe Biden officially wins that state.

First time a democrat has won the state since 1996, but that was mostly because of Ross Perot taking enough votes to allow Bill Clinton to win. The last time for a Democratic candidate to win Arizona in a head-to-head election with only a Republican was 1948.

You got to be a dumb motherfucker to be the Republican candidate and lose Arizona. Does some extremely stupid shit like make fun of their most famous Senator and war hero, and then continue mocking him after he dies.

John McCain may be single-handedly responsible for keeping Obamacare alive these past 4 years.

His thumbs down killed Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare in 2017, and Donald Trump and the Republicans won't have any more chances after 2020 because McCain came back and haunt him to lose the state of Arizona.

First president to ever get 8 digits in a state after passing 10,000,000 votes today in California. :whew:

Well it was bound to happen because of population increasing

California's population didn't go up by the 2 million difference between Biden 2020 and Clinton 2016.

Voting being much easier in 2020 with vote by mail taking centre stage due to the pandemic is the big difference.

This is the real reason the GOP is going so hard after mail-in voting. If it becomes the norm after the pandemic, the GOP could realistically almost never hold executive power again. They need to mislead their base on it since so many people realize how easy and convenient it is. Vote by mail should be the way going forward anyways for pretty much any election.

No they are not dumb. They don't want more people voting, they are after curated votes, that work in their favor. For a party that has nearly half the the active voters in this country.

They actually don't have any popular platforms other than immigration and they dont actually have anything more than a philosophical solution.

The Right in this country has been the ones who consistently through history have done everything in their power to making voting unaccessible as possible.
