Better than 1 game per gen. We got 1 Zelda on Wii. One on Wii U. 

 

Switch will get one Zelda game that's original for it, unless we get remasters or 2D Zeldas. 

 

Quality is the question. We used to get 3 FF games in a 5 year gen and everything was fine.

Annual main zeldas will eventually kill of the franchise due to lack of interesting content. If it gets streamlined I wouldn't bother with these games anymore just like with asscreed.

This was a legit issue for almost 20 years.  OoT released in, what, '97?  Every Zelda after that until BotW played exactly the same.

Don't need to imagine when we can just look at the Forza franchise for reference.

 

And that's a driving game, for godssakes.

 

Start, Accelerate, Brake, Finish Line, try to finish first place, try doing that on every track for every tournament, upgrade to better cars.

 

Its every single game, there's less variety than playing through an entire Regular Season of Madden every year.

2D top-down was more in the vein of Link to the Past, but MM, WW, SS, and Twilight Princess all follow the OoT template.  BotW was a game changer for Zelda.

Nintendo just needs to make a hybrid game of Link Between Worlds and BOTW. The item integration and the way the world opened in the dark world was awesome and the ability to just go rent items would work so well in a BOTW universe. I just want REAL dungeons and more bosses. TP had some epic dungeon bosses and nothing in the series has come close.

This is slightly different from what you said, earlier you said "played the same". 

 

Template doesn't necessarily equal play the same

e.g.

All Zelda games use the original NES game as a template... even BOTW ...but that doesn't mean they all play the same as the original. 

 

I left TP off the list because that plays almost exactly the same as OOT.
