why do so many people feel the need to be rebels and refuse to do anything the cops tell them to do? This could have easily been avoided if he had just followed the cop’s instructions. Instead he walked away to lean into his car and naturally the cop’s first thought is that he could be reaching for a gun, so instinctively he’s going to open fire to protect himself. The cops are 100% in the right here.

You mean why didn't the cop use any other means necessary to stop the person, including the other officers standing by and not doing anything? He had his back turned.

The cops are hopeless. I have no faith in them to do the right thing. They are rabid dogs. It's up to the civilians to protect themselves from being killed by them. Do what they say and you probably won't die. It isn't right, but its true.

Breonna Taylor was sleeping in her house. That guy in Dallas was in his own apartment. Also, shooting him center mass at point blank range when you probably have a tazer or some other less than lethal means is not what a normal person would do. Hell, even shooting center mass at that distance means he just wanted to kill the dude at this point.

Yes there are exceptions. Not denying that. But a sure way of being killed by the police is to ignore them and try to get in your car and drive away. At least that's what it looks like he's doing.

No.  THat's not acceptable.

 

We as a society can and SHOULD change cops, if that is the case.

 

If cops cannot find a way to handle this, they should be defunded and have that money directed to other specialists who are trained with other skills to handle this.

 

You do not simply say "welp............this is a glaring flaw...........the rest of society must find a way around to operate with this flaw in the machine"
