  1. Episode 5. Quite good and memorable, and almost entirely centered on Geralt since they are now finally having him come across Yennefer, and it was funny throughout. I still think they aren't doing a good job demonstrating the change of time unless you're paying attention to a small piece of dialogue. 9/10 Episode 6: Not as memorable, and some things don't make sense, and it failed to have the proper special effects in certain parts. But the introduction to the Dwarves was awesome. I don't know Zoltan is specifically a CDPR character, or if he's part of the books. The head Dwarf cle
  2. I guess they could continue with making up their own post-books storyline where they can make up any story they wanted. I wonder if they're allowed to make the setting in the southern territories, because originally CDPR was only allowed to reference northern territories and certain kingdoms.
  3. Control only uses ray-traced reflections, right? Its not full ray-traced lighting. Because that is not over-rated. That Quake 2 RTX is amazing, and once there's enough horsepower for natural lighting in modern games, its going to make previous lighting systems look primitive.
  4. Episode 2 and 3 work pretty well watching them together because it forms the origin story for one of the characters. I really like Geralt's stories here because they feel like isolated mini-quests that help build Geralt's legend. Both of them 8/10's Episode 4 was really interesting, because it started out okay, maybe not to interesting, and then in the second half, shit started happening. And that is where it explains how Geralt is tied to Ciri, through some flukish circumstances. Special effects look cheap in some crucial scenes, but that isn't that big of
  5. CD Projekt Red must've given him a nice deal in order to make that bitter old bastard willing to deal with them. I would imagine that they now have access to the actual books instead of making up a storyline that occurs after the books, as well as being allowed to reference all of the other kingdoms and lands. More Witcher.
  6. By the way, I think I need to make a public service announcement for people who are going to start going into The Witcher. This isn't a spoiler, you sorta need to know this. Whenever you are watching scenes with Geralt, you are watching him in a certain point of time. Whenever you are watching Yennefer, you are watching her at a certain point of time. And since Ciri is the youngest, her scenes would be considered the "present day" of when the main storyline for this season is supposed to be taking place. WItcher's and Sorceresses can
  7. The Witcher is literally the story about a guy.........who doesn't complain. Can't get much further than actual modern day incels as Geralt.
  8. Sales wise, yeah, I'm very much expecting that.
  9. I think it involves having a high xbox gamerscore
  10. Oh, and the action. Specifically the combat. There's two types of combat. Regular combat you'd see in typical battle scenes. Some shots are good, alot of them are quick shots of not-so-very-good extras taking a sword and dying spastically. And then there was the very well choreographed scene of Geralt fighting a group of guys in the middle of a small town. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit Its like the John Wick of sword fighting scenes. I ain't kidding, neither.
  11. Ok, I'm going into The Witcher right now. But I gotta say..........Henry Cavill absolutely, just straight-up, is doing the same exact Geralt voice from the video game. Especially in the quiet, non-action scenes. I'm on board already. Episode 1 Review: Rock solid start, I think they missed an opportunity to explain a couple of details that would've improved the narrative. There's two stories happening, and they could've tied them together with a nice twist. And I think they could've done a better job depicting a massive tragic event with a more ep
  12. They're paying $15 a month for what?! Styx? Like the band? Even the band called Styx is the very definition of low-budget and crappy.
  13. Jesus christ, that looks like a gaming console design for a Federal Corrections facility.
  14. I saw Ford vs Ferrari last night. I think it does help if you have watched some basic video explaining automobile racing history. But maybe not because it might spoil the ending. Its a pleasant movie. it moves rather swiftly for a 2hr 20 m movie, You finally hear Christian Bale speak in his native accent. Its kind of light in terms of genuine car jargon. it works as a solid history movie. You can take your pops to see it, he'll love it.
  15. And they're also giving a $10 coupon that you can use towards any game on the store. These mu'fuckas aren't foolin' around.
  16. I don't understand how people are using the premise of "Expectations" with a Star Wars movie. The "expectations" for Star Wars is that its Star Wars. The current group of "bad guys" that were established in The Last Jedi, I presume that specific group will failure, and most of them will be destroyed. The 3-4 main good guys will continue to live on, and some semblance of the Dark Side will continue. Like.........if you're a grown up, how do you not know that already?
  17. Its only fitting that Xbox hardware is on the verge of being pushed off of your Home Entertainment center because there is no other proper place for it. This thread just confirms that from an actual visual standpoint.
  18. i can wait up to 12 to 18 months to see it become more common. if anything, i would wait to see what tech features the consoles have to make sure the television meets them.
  19. Taylot Swift has already ripped off this Spike Jonze music video..........now Microsoft rips it off, as well
  20. Both the video game companies and the television manufacturers can't possibly be stupid enough to drop the ball and leave out this feature when next-gen hits, right? I remember I saw somebody mention the next Xbox have variable refresh rate. I assume any console that is using AMD GPUs can simply enable this through software. Its the television manufacturers that I'm concerned about. They can't add this feature to existing 4K tvs with a firmware update, can they?
  21. Clearly that was driven by the hottest line streaming service around. Mixer!
