The reason for this is because every year the ratio of that year compared to the rest of your life gets smaller and smaller so it makes it feel like time is going by faster. They best way to avoid this feeling is to go hardcore drugs, lose your job, break some laws, go to jail, get out, turn your life around and then start over fresh. I know this from experience.
You could have collected Furby's or Cabbage Patch Kids and furnished your own man cave twice over, and got your roof re-done for what these guys think they'll be able to sell their collection they would never actually be able to part with.
Look at all these kiddie consoles I've collected over the years! This one I had to pay a premium for and then upgrade to a faggy pink case.. but I got the mouse and keyboard for it for free! Truly a blessing!
Some nerd I know installed a Dreamcast region free BIOS or w/e on my console so it can play games from every region. I'm on way to a pimp dreamcast build.
Trying to build up my dreamcast collection too. I used to have so many games, sold a lot of them when I was broke. The prices are ridiculous now.
RE2 going for $150 I got that for $40 brand new back in the day. Some games I got sealed for like $12 (Skies of Arcadia, MVC) after DC died.
going for $100+++ used now. Dreamcast collecting is nuts
No shit. Their blueprint has been outdated for over a decade, people are just NOW noticing this? LOL
They won't update it though because they don't need to, the masses are going to buy their next game regardless of it's design. Rockstar is THE perfect example of sales =/= quality.
I am somewhere in between being a game collector, and being a game upgrader who essentially replaces previous consoles if I can transfer over important games to future consoles.
I do admire the SNES quite alot, but I never felt like I had a desire to "collect" SNES and its cartridges. So for me, having the SNES classic and just hacking it with roms kind of scratches that itch just fine. There's a handful of NES/SNES games that I am playing on my DSi and Wii U handheld screen that do the job for me.
I do kick myself for fucking missing out on that $80 brand-new Dreamcas
He went from "Never going to happen EVER" to "well, yeah, it's all happenings, but LAMLAM no release date for my entire library releasing on PeeCee!!!"
You guys just don't understand it, it's more than just the physicality of it, it's an encapsulation of time itself, something which requires preservation and it's educational. It's something a person like me can go to and understand from its roots, it's something I can say I was around for in the beginning and will also likely see to its end at least in a traditional sense. It's a roadmap for something I've enjoyed my entire life and can simply grab something off the shelf which can bring back thoughts and memories I've not had in decades. Friends which have past, a summer vacation between sch
