Lost sales from a bad launch are seldom ever fully recouped. A lot of people simply move on and never come back and end up not purchasing the game.
As far as NPD.. Digital sales work differently than Physical.
Digital sales are shared to NPD by the publisher and each publisher's granularity of detail shared for digital sales varies.
With that said, I highly doubt it's real time digital data they're sharing.
Most likely Monthly figures, so that would capture EA 's early access sales as within the same month of release.

It's sad but inevitable. "You'll own nothing and be happy", more control for them and less for you. This is why its better to invest in PC, at least you will have backwards compatability, picking the best optin if/when it comes to it.
I think download speeds need to increase for gaming though, some countries are stuck with primitive speeds (my own included). Downloading every game when they are 100gig+ is not feasible.
It does. It's honestly a smart idea and perhaps should have been done to begin with.. but Sony knew they needed a system with a drive for at least one more "transitional" generation. To which I believe the PS5 is it. But realistically, it just makes more sense to have them separate. These drives are only used for basically installing games now, as well as a security/authenticity check. Having them optional solves a lot of problems, for both the platform holder and consumers. All of these minors issues will be fixed and are already being fixed. The game is superior on PC, the end.
Game has some bugs currently. They just released a hotfix which fixes a couple of them though.. and I suspect the remaining ones will be fixed soon enough.
But no... lol.. this game is best on PC already.. if you have the hardware. Looks glorious in Ultrawide
