  1. Legitimately identical thoughts to how I feel.

  2. Yeah this is basically where I’m at after 15 hours or so. there’s some things about the game I like, I think it’s got a cool aesthetic, I really like the space punk style. The combat is honestly better than I thought it would be for a Bethesda game. Some of the main story quests are alright and the faction quests seem solid. my issues: -exploring is worthless. Anything that’s not on the critical (main quest or important side quest) just seems like a waste. Literally no reason to land on a random part of a planet, all you’ll find is a barren wasteland. 3. Sounds like I could have seriously underestimated what they'd be able to do, given my assumptions about where Nvidia would land with the hardware, and what Nintendo will potentially allow them to do. Given the Deck itself, and now more recently with the ROG Ally and new Ayaneo devices, it doesn't seem so far fetched to me anymore. Ampere is a powerful architecture, and given Nvidia's advancements with DLSS since the release of DLSS2 will really allow it to run lower res internally while at the same time outputting superior visuals compared to any other handheld based on AMD.. that

  4. Eh, this game isn’t for me. I’ve gotten bored of clearing out areas. The combat isn’t that great either. Maybe I would be more invested if the characters weren’t so wooden. My favorite part, in the 5 hours I played, was negotiating a hostage situation. I did some exploring. Nice rocks? I’m sure this game is perfect for a certain type of gamer, one who likes to explore for the sake of exploring.

  6. lmao, this is absolutely ridiculous. Who gives a single fuck about 3,000 potatoes or 30,000 potatoes because "teh physics" . As far as anyone is concerned around here, a 7.0 is a 7.0 .

  7. You all make excellent points about the UI and inventory systems. I had to constantly drop gear/items to be under 135, or no fast travel. Oh, and the navigation between menus is so clunky.

  8. You summed up exactly how I feel about this game. I like the game on some level but it has too many issues for me to truly become great. I can't stand the UI, no vehicles, inventory system , lack of maps and the teleporting everywhere. The game kinda feels like a poor man's Mass Effect to me. it seems Todd Howard looked at Mass Effect and NMS and thought he could do better than them. The game has a lot of cool ideas held back by antiquated game design and a shitty engine. I'm still playing it but it's not hitting for me like Skyrim did back in the da

  9. Posted my thoughts in the WDYPT thread but I feel this. I personally think it's a major step back from Skyrim and FO tbh. I just feel so much more immersed in those games and everything this game does takes me out of the immersion.

  10. Played maybe 6-8 or so hours of Starfield over multiple sessions. I don't want to sound too harsh but this really isn't even remotely hitting and I'm not sure if it's just me or the game. I feel its a Bethesda game in all the worst ways and nearly none of the good. For a game about sense of scale and exploration it has some of the worst exploration in any game, imo way worse than even just a standard open world game and leagues behind say Skyrim. It's just loading screen after loading screen to fast travel everywhere. You land on a planet and it's just random sites in varying distance from you

  11. Yep. Look at how we have this dumb bitch trying to apply double standards and getting caught in his own shit in 4K

  12. Nope. Follow along idiot. Cooke - "PCs improve all the time" Sugarhigh - "Yea, that is the strength of the platform" Cooke - "How, you can't upgrade your Deck" Remij - "Yes, you can.. you can buy a new device which runs all those games in upgraded form" Cooke never said ANYTHING about being able to upgrade the Deck.. so NATURALLY Sugarhigh wasn't responding to that assertion. Cooke doesn't get to retcon what he meant by "PC's improve all the time"... Deck CAN be upgraded with a new device.. and there are tons of new devices coming to the mar

  13. He's claiming it as a win that developers make custom switch games lower than the lowest PC settings.

  14. My Deck.. will continue to play future PC games, better than your Switch will continue to play future Switch 2 games....
    1 point
  15. Nope. I haven't at all. The strength of the PC platform is the user being able to upgrade whenever. The ROG Ally is an upgrade to the Deck. There will be more upgrades as the Switch 2 is released as well. Deck 2 will release, and will be more powerful than the Switch 2... I love how you think you're going to side step the issue of having to buy a new Switch to upgrade your old Switch... You HAVE to upgrade from your Switch to play Switch 2 games... I don't have to buy a Deck 2 to play future PC games.

  20. I think he's just speaking about his experience dude.. lol. If it doesn't grab him it doesn't grab him. Quite a few people have said they don't click with the game until further in, but also a lot of people have said that it's not interesting enough for them to find out.

  22. Yes you can. It's called buying the next one, or a better device. And I'm not sure why you think requirements continue to increase on PC over the course of a console generation. PS5 and Series X aren't changing for the next 4-5 years.. so I'm not sure why you think PCs must. PCs can be upgraded to be better within that time, but it doesn't mean you have to. And actually... PC has the advantage in that you can get more mileage out of your hardware by tuning the games to run as you wish them to.

  23. They're not going to let you install your physical Switch 1 carts on the Switch 2 internal memory. After Switch 1 was hacked to hell and high Waters they're not opening that Pandoras box. Everything else you stated is possible, it just depends on how much Nintendo will throttle performance for the sake of batter life.

  24. A lot of people will. It's kind of another interesting thing about the convergence of the gaming industry. The Switch has made a huge push for a hybrid approach to playing your games at home or on the go.. and now we have PC handhelds in the same console formfactor... and the hardware relative to the required output resolutions is getting close to matching the traditional consoles. By the end of this generation (2026/27)... there will surely be handheld PCs which outperform PS5/Series X at the handheld's target resolution (let's say 1080p)... so you have this case where people mi

  26. @Remij @lynux3 DF corroborates what we said about the efficiency gains that NVIDIA made that can be potentially applied to Switch 2. And if this is what the Switch 2 is then it's actually more powerful than we all think. Not more than PS5 or Series X obviously... But Series S level.

  28. No you haven't Oh man, he's angry so angry that he's blown his fuse So, to recap: He got caught lying about what it means to "upgrade" he then tried to say that he really wasn't talking about what Cooke was talking, and Cooke wasn't really talking about the Valve handheld he then tried to say that an platform that's being abandoned can still technically run the game......poorly......and tried to spin that as a positive thing that the Switch can't do. And he then tried to project him switching arguments, onto me. And now he's

  29. No, you are responding to THE QUESTION THAT HE IS POSING You've lost the argument. ANd you already know this, because you think you can retroactively make us think we in ANOTHER ARGUMENT of your choosing. Nope. That's not going to work.

  30. Developers ended up putting games that REQUIRE optimization to run on Switch. Witcher 3, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dying Light. See this is where you utterly lose this argument. The Valve handheld are only getting these games because its running a low PC spec, and the games have adjustable specs to leave it up to you to TRY AND GET IT TO RUN to whatever performance metric you find accept The developer................doesn't lift a finger to do anything for you. You already know this.

  31. yes. he. did. No matter what sugartits was talking about...........Cooke makes it very clear that whatever positive aspect you are talk about to PC game. DOES.........NOT..............transfer over to the Valve chinese-manufactured handheld. You specifically DO NOT have that convenience available to you on that platform. You are trying to to CHANGE YOUR ARGUMENT between a "common PC" and that Valve handheld, however you see fit. But the context is purely within handheld vs handheld And.

  32. You have decided to use a completely different metric that has absolutely no correlation to hardware power and efficiency. You are intentionally trying to be deceiving, at this point. Oh man, that Switch 2 has absolutely WRECKED YOUR SHIT, hard. Basically everything you had WISHED sheep would do against your valve-brand handheld............you're already doing it, harder, a year away from release

  33. I wouldn't be so sure of that, in fact, in terms of scope, Switch has at least 2 games which demolish anything on PS3. Xenoblade 2 and 3. I'd have to think about it, but there's probably quite a few Switch games out there doing more advanced rendering techniques than anything founed in TLOU1 on PS3. Don't forget TLOU1 on PS3 used videos for most of the cutscenes... TLOU1 is a game which was advanced in all the ways that Sony games typically are advanced. Production values... Things like the animations are a high quality.. and to be honest, it's hard for the majority of develop
