Haven't played Signalis but I do know Horror is generally considered to be the easiest genre to work with, especially for a small team. There's a reason Horror is known as the "Breakout" genre for pretty much all forms of media. It's low budget and the writing gets heavy assistance from other factors involved. So comparing Signalis to Sea of Stars is just a dumb comparison... Two completely different genres with completely different standards.
